Arts 4 Change at Rafiki Village Orphanage, Winneba
Before the work we do today, there were moments that laid the foundation for our passion to create change. One of those moments was in 2014, when we co-collaborated with the #4CHANGE initiative for the Arts 4 Change event in Winneba. Here’s a throwback to that incredible day at Rafiki Village Orphanage.
On August 16th, 2014, we joined forces with the #4CHANGE initiative and other charitable partners to bring hope, creativity, and resources to the children of Rafiki Village Orphanage in Winneba.
The day was filled with vibrant activities under the theme ARTS ‘4’ CHANGE. Children engaged in a variety of workshops, from painting, sketching, and colouring to jewellry making, model building, and art studies. These sessions weren’t just fun, they were designed to nurture creativity, build confidence, and develop new skills that could inspire the children long after the day was done.
Beyond the workshops, the team worked together to donate essential resources to the orphanage. Contributions included books, clothes, food items, and other supplies to support the daily needs of the children and staff. The spirit of giving was matched by the joy of learning, creating a lasting memory for everyone involved.
The event was also marked by reflection. Volunteers spoke about the values learned that day, teamwork, dedication, faith, and family, reminding everyone of the importance of community. One participant described the experience as “humbling to see and a great pleasure to be a part of.” Another noted, “We arrived in Winneba with a lot to give and leave with much more.”
What began as a single day of art and giving became a powerful reminder of how collaboration, creativity, and compassion can come together to change lives. The children of Rafiki Village Orphanage showed resilience, warmth, and enthusiasm, leaving a deep impression on everyone who was part of the initiative.
The Arts 4 Change event in Winneba was more than a charitable outreach. It was a celebration of community, a testament to the power of teamwork, and a demonstration of what can be achieved when people unite with a shared purpose: to uplift, educate, and inspire the next generation.
