From Seed to Sip: Vital Pressed x Asili Coffee

At Vital Pressed, we believe every product tells a story—one of land, hands, and heritage. That’s why our collaboration with Asili Coffee is so meaningful. Together, we are creating a direct bridge between our Ghanaian farmland and coffee lovers who value quality, transparency, and impact.

But what does it actually take for coffee to travel from our soil to your cup? Let’s walk you through the journey:

1. Seed & Seedling

It all begins with carefully selected coffee seeds, nurtured in shaded nurseries until they are strong enough to be transplanted into the fields. This early stage demands patience, rich soil, and attentive care—laying the foundation for the beans’ future flavour.

2. Growth & Harvest

Coffee plants take several years to mature, producing bright red cherries once ready to harvest. Our farmers handpick these cherries with care, ensuring only the ripest are chosen. This meticulous selection is key to quality.

3. Pulping & Fermentation

After harvest, the outer fruit is removed, and the beans are left to ferment. This step develops the beans’ character and removes any sticky layers that could affect drying.

4. Drying

The beans are spread under the Ghanaian sun, turned regularly to dry evenly. This natural process reduces moisture and locks in the complex notes coffee is loved for.

5. Sorting & Grading

Once dried, the beans are carefully sorted to remove any imperfections. Each batch is graded, guaranteeing that only the highest quality beans move forward.

6. Roasting with Asili

Here’s where Asili Coffee brings their expertise. Our green beans are roasted with precision to unlock their full potential—transforming raw harvest into aromatic, flavourful coffee.

7. Brewing & Enjoying

Finally, the story comes full circle in your cup. Every sip carries with it the dedication of farmers, the partnership of Vital Pressed and Asili, and the rich agricultural heritage of Ghana.
